The SMI Aussie Asado Kooka Kage Handling Hooks™ (pair) “handling hooks” we’ll call them here are designed specifically to be used as a pair (one in each hand) to help reposition the SMI AUSSIE ASADO KOOKA KAGE™ “Kooka Kage™” whilst it’s in use cooking produce over a fire when required. With one “handling hook” secured in each hand you simply use one to unhook and lift the “Kooka Kage™” from its supporting ring and then with the second “handling hook” in the other hand lift off the “Kooka Kage™” from the connection with the first “handling hook” (swapping to the second “handling hook” as to speak). Now with the “Kooka Kage™” suspended from the second “handling hook” simply rehang it back onto the suspended hang hook of your supporting structure over your fire.

By using the 2 “handling hooks” at the one time in each hand at no time do you need to handle the hot “Kooka Kage™” the “handling hooks” do all the work. Because they are not in contact with prolonged heat they are cool to the touch and don’t require gloves to use. Rather the heat from the fire below (radiant heat) is more likely to be uncomfortable on your hands and for this reason we recommend the use of heat resistant safety gloves when using “handling hooks” over a fire used to cook produce in the SMI Aussie Asado Kooka Kage™.

The SMI Aussie Asado Kooka Kage Handling Hooks™ are 100% Australian made using 100% Australian materials by Slot Me In™ from 6mm solid round 304 food grade hygienic stainless steel. They won’t rust like black or raw steel ones do nor will they leave rusty or black greasy marks on your hands either and are easy to care for. Being used with and around food handling they can simply be washed in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher as there are no wooden components that would otherwise break down with either method of cleaning.  They also are available in our “kombo kit” you might want to check out too the SMI AUSSIE ASADO KOOKA KAGE KOMBO™ KIT  with the “Kooka Kage” (2 model options “Ellipse” or “Hex” to choose from) plus included leather heat resistant safety gloves, storage/transit bag and supporting hang chain for the “Kooka Kage™” with dual hooks at each end.

By the way you’ll find some other handy uses for them too like lifting hot traditional cast iron camp ovens off or onto a fire (ones with dual bail arm rings on either side of the camp oven), lifting lids off or replacing them on hot camp ovens (ones with a bail arm or an incorporated lifting lug on the lid), lifting hot billies, kettles and single/double bail arm type camp ovens like our SMI AUSSIE CAMP OVEN KITS™  on or off a fire and yes even as a stubborn tent peg puller when required.

Each “hanging hook” is made from 304 food grade 6mm solid round stainless steel bar the same material as the SMI Aussie Asado Kooka Kage™. Each “Hanging Hook” measures mm L x mm W x mm H and weighs kg (kg per pair)
