The OZSPIT & BBQ™ Spit Bar Helper Guide Bracket is specifically designed and must be used with a second in line “ground spike” to support a spit rotisserie cook up when the 1200mm long spit bar is being used (refer to “1200mm spit bar” usage). It can of course be used with shorter spit bars in the OZPIT & BBQ™ range (1000mm, 800mm & 600mm), in conjunction with asecond in line “ground spike” if desired also.

The “bracket” takes out any flex when using the 1200mm long spit bar, especially when nearing the 9kg load capacity of the spit drive motor (combined spit bar weight and produce must not exceed 9kg). A “spring clamp” locates the “bracket” on the second “ground spike” in line with the first “ground spike” holding the spit drive motor and spit bar. The open end of the spit bar then rests in the half circle cut out of the “bracket” overhanging a minimum of 50mm for correct usage.

The open half circle cut out in the “bracket” allows the spit bar to be lifted and swung away from the fire when serving/loading produce and returned for cooking over the fire when required. When viewed side on to the spit bar the “bracket” should be level or just slightly lower than the spit bar at the motor drive end and we recommend that the complete assembly be set up without produce  before starting your fire for ease of use when required (a dry run as to speak).
