Made especially as an add-on accessory, for “drop in” simplicity on our SMI Oz Iron Kookware™ Aussie Carbon Steel Griddle™ it elevates the flat plate cooking surface area of our griddle to the next level enabling those restaurant quality “char-grill” lines to be achieved on all types of produce from meats to vegetables and much more.

The SMI Oz Iron Kookware™ Char-Grill Sizzle Plate™ is made from the very same Aussie 4mm thick low carbon steel as our griddle is, BlueScope Xlerplate™ steel. Use one or two of them on the flat surface of the griddle (as it will hold 2) and elevate your cooking style. Produce cooked on it not only develops those striking “char-grill” lines, it’s also slightly elevated above fats and oils below when required.

There are no toxic chemical coatings to crack, peel off or flake into your food, just pure low carbon steel that seasons better with each use for sustainable and healthy cooking. Each Char-Grill Sizzle Plate™ measures 240mm long x 185mm wide x 4mm thick and weighs 0.88kg (880 grams). Individually they will fit perfectly under our half size doomed lid or combined, 2 of them will fit under our full size domed lid on the Aussie Carbon Steel Griddle™. Each individual Char-Grill Sizzle Plate™ comes already preseasoned with organic rice bran oil ready for use.

With the Char-Grill Sizzle Plate™ accessory used in conjunction with the Aussie Carbon Steel Griddle™ you now have the best of three cooking worlds, a flat griddle plate surface when required (griddle used on its own), an elevated full “char-grill” surface with 2 of the “drop in” Char-Grill Sizzle Plates™ used or a combination of both using just 1 Char-Grill Sizzle Plate™ all at home directly over your stovetop be it gas, electric, induction or halogen spanning 2 “burners”. 

Built for in and over the fire cooking as well, “Flame ‘N’ Coals™” their use isn’t just limited to over stovetop cooking. They are perfectly suited for use in the “Aussie Carbon Steel Griddle” when combined on a BBQ (all types including kettle styles), over a fire pit, over a ground fire, in a chiminea, in a woodfire pizza oven and much more.
