Here at Slot Me In™ we manufacture modular 1000mm long flue sections in 6 standard size diameters of 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm & 400mm. All are made from 304 stainless steel in a 2B matt finish in a 0.55mm sheet gauge thickness for longevity of use.From these standard size diameter flue sections you will find the required ones to suit all of our 5 size models of the SMI™ Open Fireplace.

One end of the flue section is crimped while the other is plain. When installing the inner skin flue to any fireplace or similar the crimped end must be facing downwards to allow for the next piece (section) to continue in the same direction. By assembling your flue this way it ensures that any saps, resins or similar will not leak externally and can only travel back down towards the fireplace or be burnt during combustion in the flue.

When installing a second or outer skin of flue the direction of the crimped end changes to be facing upwards and subsequent sections likewise. Upon exiting from a chimney having your secondary outer flue skin installed this way ensures no water penetration between the inner and outer flue sections.

Due to the bulky nature of flue sections shipping is calculated on volume and the weight indication in the shipping chart is not the actual weight of the flue section. For large quantities of flue sections we advise to contact us directly for an alternative bulk shipping method.

Flue sections at the top of your chimney will require a top hat or commonly called a wind rim cowl of which we manufacture also see SMI™ Stainless Steel Flue Wind Rim Cowls Our wind rim cowls are designed to join an inner and outer flue together. If you only have a single flue we make single flue caps also in the standard 6 diameter sizes of our standard flue diameters mentioned above. Again other sizes required are made to order.
